Barossa Valley 2006 Shiraz Lot 147

A tasty Shiraz if a bit pricey. But for it's price a very good Shiraz, and a worthy representative of its type and another World Market wine.

A clear, bright (read unclouded), purple wine with a light structure to it. Clearly, some lovely berry notes for your nose and similar berry notes for your palate as well as a moderate spicy note as well as well as a certain astringency for this wine, (in a good way) with good balance and a moderate to long finish thanks to its astringency. A much better sipping wine than a dinner wine. Its dryness lingers for a time on your palate.

Thistle Dew NV Shiraz - Mourvedre Australia

Well, honestly, a pale imitation of a Shiraz. I've tasted better and if your looking for a red to drink, try their Cab-Petit Verdot instead.

Thistle Dew NV Chardonnay - Verdelho Australia

For the price, a tasty and likable Chardonnay. Not the best you've ever had, but certainly not the worst! And a wine I found at World Market, cheap!

Thistle Dew NV Cabernet - Petit Verdot Australia

A tastier wine the longer it was opened. Aeration a is a must. And a wine better the 2nd day than the first. Few wines can say that.

Hayman Hill 2007 Riesling USA

A fainter kind of Riesling, not terrible, but others I've tried seem to have a bit more presence.
