Nose is a bit faint even for a Chardonnay. It’s a good pale color however. But it doesn’t have much in the way of viscosity. Oak seems to predominate, with not a lot of fruit notes beyond that. It’s got a bit of of tickle to the back of the throat the end. I think the Toad Hollow 2003 was a better choice, if you can still find any. Were I one of those wine snobs I might wax nostalgic about the previous vintage of this that you can’t get any more. But what I will say is: it’s so-so. You might want to get the guests drunk on a better wine and switch to this when they’re not looking. And I'd tell you it's using a real cork. Grade: C Price: $13
