AutoMoto 2007 Reisling California

While I might remember my first real car (an Oldsmobile Omega, remember those?). I might be hard pressed to remember this wine. Some better choices might be the Hogue Late Harvest Reisling (2007) or Washington Hills Late Harvest (2007) Riesling.

It's a clear, bright light to medium colored straw yellow wine with little "legs" to it. Your nose might detect some faint tree fruit notes, but it better be a very good nose! While there is definate tree fruit notes (apple or pear perhaps) for your taste buds, there is also is what appears to me to be a flinty/mineral after taste at the end. Not bad per se, but somewhat unusual for a Riesling. There as also little astringency as this wine as it has a decided "wet" taste. Best for sipping, if you must. Some better choices might be the 2007 Hogue Late Harvest Riesling (Washington) or Washington Hills Late Harvest (2007) Riesling.
