Beringer Third Century 2006 Syrah

The worst of the "Beringer Suite" wines I've tried of late. Two words: "Try elsewhere."

This wine has a deep purple color, and that seems to be the last of it's redeeming characteristics. There's a decidedly "wet" taste to this wine, little fruit (berry? really?) notes for your nose and even less for your taste buds, let alone spicy notes. There's a so-so balance. Certainly not a complex wine (what did you want for $5?), but no off-notes. It just comes across a rather bland wine with nothing for you to savor, not like a Syrah at all.

Some other wines to consider:
Tin Roof 2005 Syrah
Conde de Velazquez 2007 Syrah
Texas Hills 2006 Syrah
