Big House White 2008 White Wine California

Something of an unusual duck. You nose says one thing but your taste buds don't quite concur. Best on some hot day in summer. But don't serve this too chilled as it shuts down some of the taste.

It's a clear, bright pale to light yellow colored wine with little in the way of structure to it. There is some tropical notes for your nose with this one (Pineapple? Melon?) which doesn't seem to follow through to your taste buds. What does come across is more of a mild herb quality, perhaps with mineral under notes. It's not an astringent wine, and there is a soft sweetness to it too. The balance is OK, and the finish, short. Although if you drink enough, the taste tends to linger a bit more. A sipping wine and not a dinner wine. But perhaps the 2nd bottle you might open for your friends.
