Cline Oakley Five Reds 2007 California

A tasty wine like many of the Cline wines I’ve tried. One for both sipping and dinner. This one we tried at a local watering hole.

It’s a clear, bright medium garnet colored wine with little structure to it. This is more than made up for in its taste. There are intense berry and spicy notes (not a sub note here) for both your palette and note. Moderate acidity would be able to handle most light dinners (the bottle blurb is probably accurate here). Aeration of the wine a good choice too as this seems to really improve the taste (Silenus and I agree by at least a couple of steps.) I like this one best for sipping….

Out West, where the wild winds blow off the San Joaquin River, is where you'll find Cline Cellar's gnarly, ancient grapevines. Growing in sand, without irrigation, their roots plunge 45 feet in search of water. These extreme conditions produce grapes of intese flavors. Oakley Five Reds is a smooth blend of red grape varietals and offer flavors of spicy berries. An excellent accompaniment to spicy western grub or tomato based dishes.
