Fog Bank 2008 Pinot Grigio California

Honestly, I'm not a fan of the Pinot Grigio. As a friend of mine said of this type of wine, "It's the lemonade of the wine world." And so it is with this one...

This comes across as a typical Pinot and surprisingly the blurb probably gave a pretty accurate description of this wine. Citrus to be sure (mostly lemon for me), with a very pale yellow color typical of Pinots. The mineral finish is there too, but for me that's a bit of a negative. Serve very chilly, and consider a nice Prosecco instead.....

With the evening tide, the fog rolls in and cools our vineyards. The nighttime temperatures provide relief from the heat of the day and extend the growing season. A longer time on the vine means a longer time to develop complex, rich varietal flavors. Fog Bank Pinot Grigio is a refreshing with citrus characters of lemon and lime balanced with a slight mineral finish.
