For the modest, and I mean modest price ($7 for 1.5L), better than I expected, but not spectacular. A surprise considering I’ve gotten some spotty results from Chile lately. Ok, this wine has a clear, bright if somewhat light violet, with believe it or not some structure to the wine. There are some berry notes, if rather muted. The balance is ok and the finish is short. But there is a faint metallic or other aftertaste that’s a little hard to place, but which doesn’t detract from the overall taste. Overall, the wine needs more body (tastes watery) to help the rating. A note about the cork. It appears to be a composite and has the appearance of cardboard. I'm sure given the price of the bottle, it was a cost saving. And one final note, it tends to turn your tongue black like Tunderbird. Not a good sign.
