Hayman Hill 2007 Riesling USA

A fainter kind of Riesling, not terrible, but others I've tried seem to have a bit more presence.

It's a clear, bright pale/shallow yellow colored wine with not particular structure to it. There's plenty of fruity notes for your nose, pear, well OK, maybe. And there's a light fruity sweetness too with perhaps a slight mineral taste at the end of it all. There's a good balance here and a likeable crisp finish too. Defiantly serve chilled. And it probably doesn't need to be said to sip this wine vs. dinner.

Our quest for the finest Riesling took us to Washington state. Over the mountains, away from the rain clouds, is the beautiful Columbia Valley. Here, the slow and steady ripening conditions craft our ideal wine - subtle pear and flora aromas with a hint of sweetness, and a crisp, balanced finish.
