Definitely not your typical Chardonnay. If your looking for a somewhat oaky, fruity type of wine, look elsewhere! It's a clear, bright, medium depth straw yellow colored wine with at least a little structure to it. There's not a lot of sweetness here (mild) and even less floral or tree fruit notes to this wine. What seems to show through most is mineral or a flinty taste with perhaps an herbaceous quality underneath. There is some oak to this wine, but no overpowering, as well as moderate acidity. It has a good balance and clean, crisp finish. It's a wine better for dinner than sipping to be sure. Juniper Canyon |
