For the effort, not a bad wine, Martha's stamp of approval not withstanding. Others for the same price but perhaps better, Grove Ridge 2007 Merlot, or Harthill Farms Merlot. It's a clear, bright ruby-violet wine with medium to deep color. There are some faint berry notes for your nose with some stronger berry notes for you palette. It's a wine with a moderate astringency, smooth, rounded tannins with a medium finish. A wine well suited for sipping or dinner. What it seems to lack is a bit more punch to take it to the next level for me. There is a bit of sediment to this wine (only because I got the last glass.) Consider a filter. Martha Stewart |
