Metrokane (Rabbit) Foil Cutter

OK, sure, it will cut the foil off of a wine bottle, but you'd better have the forearms of Popeye the Sailor man! Did you eat your spinach today?

As devices go, what could be simpler? The device itself is a basically a disk cut into two half's separated by flat metal plate. You cut the foil simply by placing the cutter over the bottle top, squeezing the two half's together to contact the cutters with the foil and turn the bottle or cutter one complete revolution. And therein lies the problem. You need quite a bit of force apparently to do this with this cutter. I've used this model for about six months after my last one (a different type) broke. It usually takes a couple of tries to actually do the cutting. It would be faster to take a knife to the foil instead of this cutter. Better choice might be those models with one end open (elongated C or U shaped) as they allow for contact of the cutting wheels with less force. Avoid this one. Unless you're Popeye of course.
