Monte Oton 2008 Garnacha Spain

Well, based on the bottle blurb, these folks have a slightly higher opinion of this wine than I do. A serviceable wine for for $7, but not exactly noteworthy. Maybe they were talking about some of their other higher priced wines.

It's a clear, bright violet colored wine with medium depth and little structure. It's a rather dry wine with little in way aroma or taste (ok, some faint berry notes) for you to savor. It's has an OK balance and finish (long? complex? Just thinking back to the blurb here.) Its one bright spot is a rather lingering dryness. Best for dinner than sipping.

Bottle Blurb:
The vineyards of Monte Oton are situated high on the windswept slopes of the extinct volcano Moncayo. The sun drenched arid location is ideal for harvesting perfectly matured, fully ripened Garnacha grapes. The resulting wine is full bodied, elegantly textured and exhibits a long complex finish.
