The bottle says: "You'll be bitten." By what? I'm not sure. But it is a middling to good Chard overall. It's a clear, bright, light colored straw-yellow wine with a bit-o-structure. There are some citrus notes for your nose with this one, but taste wise it comes off a bit more like tropical fruit instead of all citrus. There's not a lot of oak here, but there is some moderate acidity, an OK balance and a good finish. Better for dinner, thanks to the acidity than for sipping. It might be the 2nd bottle you open if you're sipping wine that evening..... Red Belly Black |
