Redwood Creek 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon California

Not a terrible wine. It's drinkable, but just not memorable.

It's a rather deep purple wine with a light structure to it. Not much for your nose, like a few in this price range, but some berry notes for your palate. It might even be raspberries like the blurb says. A lightly dry wine, with a plus, the dryness lingers a bit. There is an OK balance and finish. Aeration seems to really help this wine, however.

Bottle Blurb:
The water tumbled over the rocks, rushing downstream - bound for the Pacific, eventually. We were in no mood to hurry off. Our camp set beneath the redwoods, fire crackling, and the feast we trekked in,prepared. I opened the bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon - it was rich and flavorful with hints of ripe raspberries and a smooth velvety finish. Perfect, we thought. Not unlike the moment. Not unlike California.

(Are the saying the wine will taste better outdoors? And only in a redwood forest in California?)
