Another “theme” wine from South Africa. On this one there’s a picture of a cheetah – in full run – on the label and they even follow through with cute cheetah print spotting on the fake cork. What’s inside? Surprisingly, it’s a pretty good wine. I’ve had worse from South Africa. There’s a nice clear, bright, medium depth straw yellow color to this wine. Not too much oak, with some moderate sweetness and some pretty low acidity. This gives the wine a nice balance if a short finish. There are some fruit notes to this wine, mostly apple to me, but enough is there to nudge this wine up a step or two in grade. Grade: B- Price: $10 Sebeka |
