Another from the Gallo stable, this one better than you might expect for the price. But better perhaps with a dinner than drinking by itself. It has a clear, bright medium depth violet to ruby color with a least some structure to it. There are some berry notes (blackberry) to this wine, but somewhat on the faint side. There is some good balance here as well as a medium finish. It’s definitely a wine with lively acidity, (good with a meal perhaps) and somewhat aggressive tannins. Another year might help this. Better if you let this breath for 15 minutes. Grade: B- Price: $10 Wine Reviewed: |

Turning Leaf Merlot
I made the mistake of picking up a bottle of TL Merlot today...
I have never in my life expected a bottle of wine to present aromas and taste of a package of popcorn. OMG. This was incredibly disappointing. Next time I'm looking for something new to taste, I'll turn my back on the falling leaf.
